Hi
I am planning to put a touchscreen pc running silverjuke into the main bar of my pub but would like the ability to use the pc behind the bar to control certain aspects of silverjuke, the main ones being to pause and skip tracks but it would be great to be able to search and add tracks as well.
I see that Silverjuke supports command line and DDE requests but Im not sure how/if I can use them from another PC.
Has anyone managed to create a remote plugin (perhaps a web interface like eJukebox) that coul ddo something simillar?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Steve

Re: Controlling Silverjuke from another pc on the network
Some people in the german forum used a SIMpad as a remote control, see http://forum.silverjuke.net/viewtopic.php?t=1069 (even if you do not speak germen, there are lots of pictures, so you can get the idea).
Using the command line: Wouldn't a normal remote shell do the job in this case?

B.

I could use remote desktop or vnc but that would take control of the silverjuke machine -bit confusing if a customer is using the main screen in the bar!
I just need a way to skip and enque tracks from behind the bar without interfering with the main box.
Any suggestions?

I do not know if there exist sth. like that - But B.'s idea with a remote shell soulds as a very simple solution.
Just my 5 cents - there may be better ideas.
