I edited the "shell" reg key from explorer to Silverjuke. Everything does end up starting fine. There is just one annoyance, the music kicks in, then silverjuke kiosk GUI finally appears some 30 seconds later... I guess, what I want to know is if that is standard behavior?
I did slim down my XP SP1 installation to "nearly" strict minimum.... so maybe it is something that I did wrong....
If anyone has any insight on the matter, it would be appreciated.

Silverjuke as Shell....
Re: Silverjuke as Shell....
Hmm, why don't you simply put Silverjuke in the autostart folder?
However, interesting that Silverjuke can act like a shell at all

Why not in autostart folder?...
I am looking to remove all visual traces of winblows.
My first approach was the Startup folder, but I just couldn't remove the taskbar.....
(autohide only hides it AFTER shell start and leaves a beautiful trail on its way down
)
I am now looking into alternate shells

Okay - I think you're talking about the moment *before* silverjuke's kiosk mode is started? Because if it is started, the taskbar is hidden - at least if you enable the Alt+Tab and Ctrl+Alt+Del shortcuts.
However, good luck in trying alternate shells - sounds interesting.
