No sound on WMA playback
Thanks for your quick replies [to viewtopic.php?t=151 ]. Unfortunatly I cannot get any sound when trying to play audio through Silverjuke. I have been trying quite a number of different programmes and this is the only one which won't output sound. Doesn't look like I will be using it after all. But thank's for the help anyway

Time displays ?:??
Just had another look at this. All the track length details have question marks where the track time shoud be. Could this be the problem and if so how do I sort it out?
Many thanks

No decoder?

Seems as if no audio decoder is installed or the installed audio decoders cannot read your music files correctly. Which music file types are you using? Does Silverjuke print any error message? Is the time running in the display if you play a track? Please also check if the audio output uses the correct sound card.

Re: No decoder?
The file types I have tried are .wav and mp3. As all other players I have used play the same files without problem I don't think it is a codec problem. There are no errors reported from the player. The player seems to be using the correct sound card (there is only one). The question marks also appear in the display when a song is running.

For finding the error, let us first only check the MP3-Playback. Which audio decoder is used for MP3-Playback? To check this, right click onto a track in the browser and select "Edit tracks/Get info" from the context menu. In the opening dialog, switch to the "Info" tag and scroll down to the line starting with "Audio decoder:". What is printed there?
And, to make really sure, there is no decoder problem: On playback, if you click onto the little sine wave icon left in the display: Does the appearing spectrum analyzer/oscilloscope show music data or are they still?
If the spectrum analyzer/oscilloscope shows the music data, it seems really to be an audio output problem - we've never had such a problem before. However, in this case: What is printed at "Settings/Playback/Audio output/Options/Output:"? And, in this dialog, if you click on "Further options": What is the preferred audio device? Moreover: Which version of Silverjuke are you using - in the newer beta-versions, we've changed some stuff regarding the audio output settings - maybe this will solve your problem.
Thank you for reading this longer posting,
Best regards,

playback problems
The audio decoder being used is "microsoft winamp/wma plugin v1.00(x86)".
The spectrum analyzer/oscilloscope does move as if the music is playing.
At the "Settings/Playback/Audio output/Options/Output:" d sound is shown and the prefered device is the soundmax digital audio (which is my soundcard).
The version I am using is 1.14. I'm a little unsure about loading Beta software. Before I do can you tell me how far into it's development you are.

Okay, this is seems to be the problem. In the Winamp forums you'll find similar errors with this plugin :-( If installed, try the "Nullsoft WMA plug-in v2.11 (x86)" (check "Settings/Basic settings/Modules"); we'll also try to find out an URL where to download this module. Maybe other readers also have some tips regarding WMA-playback. The time display ?:?? also comes from this module as the total playing time could not be find out.
Moreover, can you please try to play an MP3 file? This should work without any problems.

Beside one known bug affecting the new balloon tooltips, the current beta is stable. However, using this versions won't help for this problem.

Re: playback problems
Hi,
Trying out Silverjuke on trial version...I have the same problem as this post and would like to obtain the Nullsoft WMA plug-in v2.11 Have found Nullsoft's site, but no download for this plug in is listed. Can you please let me know where I can find this plugin?
Thanks,
Rob
