Silverjuke 2.51 released

Hello,

in the on this site (please log in with you e-mail address) you'll find a little update of Silverjuke, the version number is now 2.51.

The update only fixes a problem in the kiosk mode in combination with Windows 95/98/ME - if you do not use these operating systems, an update is not required.

Every time I update music library (F5) , after around 5 seconds of scanning it just closes then when I re-open it gives me an error.

First: Yes, you can expect an update soon. However, we cannot tell you a concrete date yet.

Second: No - audio playback will not be supported directly in the next version. You have to rip your CDs first.

I don't know if I am doing this right, but I have a very important question concerning this jukebox player. I have been looking for a play comparable to Music Match Jukebox version 9, and have found nothing that comes even close, and now it is owned by Yahoo. Does anyone know if this player or jukebox will rip a cd? You can add tracks that are aready on your computer, but can you rip new or other CD's. If yes, then, I will buy the jukebox. Thank you for any help you can give.

Silverjuke does not rip CDs, however, for me, this is not a problem.

There are many very specialized programs out there (CDex, Exact Audio Copy, EAC, K.R.A.C and so on), which are better than the ripper of eg. Music Match (and would probably be better than one built-in into Silverjuke).

What happened to the jukeboxes that used to do it all? I have over 10,000 songs of various genres and I used to be able to keep each genre as a separate library with music match jukebox 9. I guess I'll have to settle for WMP. Do you know of one that does it all. I'll pay fo it. God bless.

have you tried Silverjuke? Beside the ripping stuff, everything should work well - 10,000 songs are no problem, there are users with *much* more, see
