Is there a way to use ASIO4ALL with the embedded player as I do with winamp using the ASIO4ALL plugin?
Thanks in advance...

No - why would you need it? The latency is normally not that important for a player.

Re: ASIO4ALL
I used to get bit perfect playback for my mp3s. If I played a DTS encoded file through my reciever through windows K-mixer I would lose the DTS info. If played with the ASIO4All it would retain the DTS info, and was bit perfect.

Re: ASIO4ALL
Isn't DTS just a file format? As I see it now, this has nothing to do with ASIO or not ASIO. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: ASIO4ALL
The ASIO4All would bypass the windows Kmixer and allow non altered bit perfect streams to my reciever. Here is some copied text from a posting, not mine..
"I have recently discovered that most media/music players when playing CD or Mp3 music do not play bit perfect sound. This is due to windows Kmixer upsampling all 44.1kz sounds to 48kz. It is not a problem for recorded programming from capture cards or playing DVD's as they are already 48kz but music files are not. In order to get true Hi quality music playback from your HTPC you must use a program that does Kernal streaming or uses an ASIO wrapper program to bypass the Kmixer and send Bit Perfect sound to your recievers or speakers."
Yes a DTS mp3 is just another mp3 file, but unless it is set to a decoder "bit perfect" it will lose some of the information the decoder needs. The DTS file I had when played by Winamp through windows XP kmixer (without ASIO4ALL) played just static, when played through winamp with the ASIO4ALL plugin the file played was a German man doing a 5.1 speaker test.
Thanks for your time.....

Re: ASIO4ALL
One other link if you are interested. I am no expert on the subject, I just know I was able to get bit perfect output to my reciever with the ASIO plugin and a Chaintech a710 soundcard with optical out to my reciever.

Re: ASIO4ALL
Hello Kensn,
thank you for your detailed information. I did not know that the windows Kmixer is that bad (and I'm still not sure). Maybe we will add ASIO support some day, however, this will have a very low priority. If there are prossible improvements affecting this point: Maybe Microsoft will improve their DirectX layer?
Do other users have same experiences?
By the way: All this does not affect the Mac-version; OS X has "kernel streaming" by default - AFAIK this is called "Core Audio" there.

Thank you for the reply and time spent on this. I really enjoy your application and has replaced my previous Jukebox program. Please keep up the fine work....

Re: ASIO4ALL
I believe this is a hoax.
Kmixer does not upsample, but some soundcards do, including the Soundblaster range. This may result in less-than-perfect sound quality.
It is for that reason alone that I picked a soundcard with a C-media chipset. It turned out to be the cheapest one as well, a nice bonus...

Re: ASIO4ALL
Hoax or not the Kmixer will not pass a DTS wave file bit perfect for my reciever to decode it. Now is this a high priority for a Jukebox app.... I don't know.. but having bit perfect playback was a plus...
