random track selection not very random

I was wondering how silverjuke random selection of tracks works. If i set automatic control auto play to 0 min what algorithm does it use to randomise the tracks. I ask as i have over 1180 albums in my collection and yet with in space of 17 songs it managed to pick 2 from the same album and I only have 2 albums from that artist. It also managed to pick two tracks from another artist with in the same span two tacks from the same double album for that artist and i only have one album for this artist. So as you can see this is not very random.

I Am i missing something i need to set to stop this happening.

Well, random is very random in our tests. And we did not noticed similar problems.

However, by default, the selection comes out of the "current view" (see "Settings / Playback / Automatic control") - maybe you had a pending search or something like that so that the "current view" is only a small part of your library? What happens, if you choose another selection as "70ies music"?

I can assure you that my settings where such as it had the option to choose from my whole collection. I have seen it do similar before.

Is there any way to find out how many albums there are in my database with out the need to use an sql lite program and read the database?
