We have good news for you: After some months of development and figuring things out, it is finally there: The brand new Silverjuke beta introduces UPnP/DLNA support!
This means, you can not only use your local music folders and files but also any UPnP/DLNA server - just add the server to the list of sources at "Settings / Music library / Add source". You can also mix servers and local folders and you can use more than one server. The Linux version even plays videos this way.

EDIT: Updated the beta to 16.5.3 with the possibility to write files from scripts and some minor fixes.
