If Windows/DirectShow can play MP4 files, Silverjuke should do this as well. However, Windows will need some additional codecs for this purpose ...

they do work ok with wmp so asume that the codec is
there but sj keeps coming up with a error
i first tried it with my network storage and then copied
a mp4 tracks into my pc but still the same error

mp4s do work with any other video players on my pc but not sj
so its not a codec problem

replys the amount of tech probs in the past by me and others
i have seen on a reg basis with dead ends

Hello silversmith,

sorry, there are many posts and questions these days.

However, as mentioned by B., Silverjuke may play everything that can be played by DirectShow. Other media players may use their own codecs or other sources, so this is not directly comparable.

There are many different codecs, in many cases, tools like the k-lite codec pack (see eg. ) may help with problems. Please not that we cannot give support to any codecs.

However, if in doubt, please feel free to post a video file to drsilver@silverjuke.net so that we can check out the problem here in our labs - without any success guaranteed ;-)
