Eagle BlueTouch Beta 3 - Album Art Caching / Display Speed

I have questions regarding the speed at which album art is displayed inside the BlueTouch Beta 3 skin (which also may apply to other skins - we'll see).

Once a page of album art has been displayed to the user, if the user RETURNS in the future to view that page then the album art is displayed instantly. If this is the FIRST TIME that a particular page of album art is being displayed then the screen draws significantly more slowly.

In order to remedy this situation, BlueTouch Beta 3 has a feature which is designed to pre-cache the album art upon startup. But this doesn't seem to be working efficiently, at least in my case.

Situation 1: Album art caching is turned off

I load SJ and start browsing albums. The system takes about 1.5 seconds to draw the 10 album art covers and complete the display on the screen. Assuming I am browsing to the RIGHT, if I then stop and browse to the LEFT (which shows a page that has previously been displayed) the album art appears nearly instantly, the system taking about 0.2 seconds to draw the 10 album art covers and complete the display. This makes sense and seems to be operating correctly.

Situation 2: Album art caching is turned on

I load SJ and the BlueTouch Beta 3 skin starts the process of caching the album art. It takes about 5 minutes to cache the ~900 albums. I then start browsing albums. The system STILL takes about 1.5 seconds to draw the 10 album art covers and complete the display on the screen. Again, once a page has been displayed previously, returning to that page will result in the nearly instant display of all 10 album art covers. This doesn't make sense to me. If the album art was cached upon startup why is it not displaying nearly instantly the first time it is displayed?

In summary - what actually happens when the pre-caching feature is enabled, and why am I not seeing the benefits? I recall this working significantly better in the original version of the skin. Perhaps I have a setting incorrectly set within SJ?

System:
P4 3.0ghz hyperthreaded
2gb DDR
7200rpm SATA
music library is local to the machine (used to be a network share)

And ... I assume that this question can only be answered by the skin author but I figured that I would post for all to see in case others may benefit from the answer. :)
