An INCREDIBLY useful feature would be an ability to set a start/end time for specific playlists...is this possible?

Hi Neil,
this should be easy to do (without scripting):
Just google for a freeware program which is able to execute prgrams to a given time (aborange (german),RunAsDate,...), and execute a batch file at the given time with the following content:
"c:\program files\silverjuke\siverjuke.exe" --execute="program.musicSel='your Playlistname'"
This should work (not tested).
Let me know if this is what you are looking for.
But for sure, also via scripting this is possible to realize.

It would be great if this was possible out of the box...would be quite a simple exercise to add it I would have thought, but would open up the possibility of automating SilverJuke playback.

Scripting would make it possible with the current release of SJ, probably trivial to adopt one of bertkessel's scripts. Already someone else posted a similar request to adapt that script for the same purpose. I'll have a look after this weekend. [edit wednesday 15 april: weather too nice, it'll take longer

Unfortunately I am waiting for either a bugfix or an idea for a usable workaround to get bertkessels script working during summertime. SJ scripting has an issue with daylightsaving, I cannot even run bertkessels' script during the summer, so adapting it currently makes no sense...
