Hello,
I'm currently trying out Silverjuke and I'm much impressed. Just one thing keeps frustrating me. Whenever I start up Silverjuke, shuffle play is on. If I turn it off and restart Silverjuke, it's on again. How can I prevent this?
O, and my friends keep clicking the album covers to play an album. That would certainly be a more intuitive approach. Would be nice to enable that in the next version.

Normally, Silverjuke remembers the shuffle state as well as eg. the repeat state and the volume. But I'm not really sure if we're talking about the same thing: do you mean the little icon in the upper-left corner of the display beside the mini-cover? Does Silverjuke remember the other mentioned states on your machine?

Maybe you're right. However, currently a left or right click on the cover result in operations affecting the cover. For the album, click on the album title and for the artist, please click on the artist name.

Shuffle play
I don't know about the icon, but when I enque an album I notice that the tracks are shuffled. I then rightclick on the playlist window, choose "play" and have to uncheck "shuffle". When I restart Silverjuke with "shuffle" unchecked, it is again set to shuffle. Do I do something wrong?
P.S.: I'm on day 12 of my trial period, and tomorrow is payday. You can expect my order. This piece of software has it all for me. Exactly the right amount of tagging possibilities. Very nice "lookup" function (I finally found all my album covers) etcetera. Keep up the good work.

Solved?
Hey, I tried switching off shuffle play by clicking on the little icon that you mention, and this time it remained off even after restart of Silverjuke. If I do it in the way described above, shuffle state is not memorized somehow. Something to look into, I guess, but at least this (easier) method solves it for me for the time being.
Regarding clicking on the cover art: I would say it is more intuitive for a music player to expect music after clicking. After all, Silverjuke is not a picture editor. But anyway, thanks for the quick response.

Another hint
I got a simelar problem via e-mail, and the problem there was, that the option "Settings / Kiosk mode / Functionality /Shuffle" was enabled -- this setting defines the value the global shuffle mode is set to if you start the kiosk mode. If you then stop the kiosk mode again, the global shuffle setting is not reset -- this is by design as it allows you to stop the kiosk mode without changin' any playback setting while playing.
However, maybe we should make this option more transparent in future versions.

Double click on covers

In the beta test forum (log in required) the new version 1.15beta5 is available now. This version has a new switch at "Settings/Basic settings/Further options" where you can tell Silverjuke what do do if you click or double click on a cover.
