Silverjuke 2.51 and Windows Vista

Hello,

First of all i would like to say that this is definitely the best jukebox around, I'm currently using the demo version and I'm very impressed.

What i like in particular is the kiosk-mode. Its ideal for parties, this brings me to the matter in hand. The kiosk mode works perfectly on XP but somewhat falters on Vista.

Don't know if this has been already reported. Ive searched the forums, but as i don't understand German at all, I've found no similar posts.


On Vista:

- the power button still supersedes the Silverjuke setting
- the CTRL+ALT+DEL combo brings up the menu with which the task manager can be opened.

Can someone tell me (in English please) how I can get Silverjuke to work in Vista. Silverjuke stops responding very soon after setting it to import music tracks into the library.

Are you sure, this is a problem of Windows Vista? Does the error not happen if you're using eg. Windows XP?

Otherwise, I would simply search for an erroneous file or sth. like that. Maybe the error always at the same file?

The Task Manager in Vista lets you end program process... Not a very good kiosk mode.

Any update to fix this?

Well, currently "Windows Vista" is not on the compatibility list, however, it will be in future releases.

In common, for productive systems, we would recommend XP at the moment. If you use Windows Vista, you should create an accout (a user) for Silverjuke that has very restricted rights and, if possible, has no access to the task manager.

Ah well... there are other systems to buy, im currently in eval.mode...so my money goes somewhere else.

You should know that Vista has been out in the world for about... what is it.. 1.5 year now.

Otherwise it looks like a good product.
