What I envisage is a remote server which is always on and updates the cvs file in the background, and a client laptop in the living room running Silverjuke which always reads from an updated cvs file on the server.
Questions:
What server software do you recommend? Twonky, Slimserver, etc.
Do I need to restart Silverjuke to make use of the updated cvs file?
How do I connect to a server?
Silverjuke 2.60beta3 released

The server software does not matter as both, CSV and MP3 file transfer is done using plain HTTP. In our tests we're using Apache, as this was already installed ...

No, you update the library as usual by pressing F5 or by calling Database.update() from within a script.
> How do I connect to a server?
You add the server as other sources at "Settings / My music library / Add source". The connection itself is done only as neeed - on updates or if you play a file from the server.

Will/are SilverJuke (be) able to connect to a DLNA server to get the playlist and music from that server ?

Re: Silverjuke 2.60beta3 released
Currently, for different reasons, Silverjuke does not support DLNA directly.
However, maybe it is possible for some coders to let the server provide the data in a way understood by Silverjuke ...

Thanks for the quick reply. I was asking because I saw Windows Media player showed my Linkstation:pvconnect (DLNA Server) on a Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo. Would be nice to have the same in SilverJuke as its the player we use now only. :)

Thank you for your posts, Enkil.
Be sure, we will have an eye on DLNA ...

Is there any reason we can't have completely separate view size controls for the grid, left-to-right list, and top-to-bottom list views? I like the grid to have really small images, and the lists to have large ones, this isn't really possible with all the single linked zoom controls.
Thanks,
Jaye.

The "About" window in the beta says "This version is for testing purposes only and is only valid until Fri Aug 08 2008."
Does this mean that the program will stop working after this date?

No, it won't stop working. But it will print a warning that you should check Silverjuke.net for a new version.

Re: Silverjuke 2.60beta3 released
In cover mode it would be nice if just the album you selected expanded with the song list, then after selecting a song went right back to the cover mode (kind of like the jukeboxes in bars). Im not really sure what the value of cover mode really is when it just takes you right to Album view.
