Help for playing m4p files

I found this on the site:
M4P files cannot be played easily with programs other than iTunes.
Not very encouraging
Has anyone figured out how to play files purchased from the iTunes store?
Here's my Silverjuke touchscreen juke box installed in the back room... can you find it? I LOVE this software!

Hello chazman,

as far as I know, you can purchase non-DRM-protected, plain MP3-files in the iTunes Music Store since some weeks. So there should be no need to use M4P anymore

For the already purchased M4P-files: You can burn them to CD and rip them to MP3 afterwards ...

Yes... actually it has dropped into screensaver mode in the picture so it is just a changing picture on the wall... but if you tap the screen Silverjuke comes on. Too bad about the iTunes... the out and back in approach was one I knew would work but I didn't want to have to go back and manually type in the tag info (I believe if I rip them to an audio cd and back to mp3's all tag info will be lost). And yes, they are older purchased iTunes songs I'm stuck with.
