Re: Adding files
For a first setup, just drag'n'drop the folders with the music files to the main window of Silverjuke, Silverjuke will scan automaticall all subfolders.
An overview about the folders added can be found at "Settings / My music library" where you can also remove sources or add them using a file selector.
Later you can just copy any music files to one of the (sub-)folders known by Silverjuke. You can do this with the explorer or with any other program you like. Back in Silverjuke, just hit F5 to rescan the sources.
Of course, you can also modifiy your source folders anytime at "Settings / My music library".
I hope that we could answer your question,
Best regards,

Re: Adding files
i want to run silverjuke on my arcade cabinet using only the arcade controls (i.e. a joystick and buttons.
I want to configure silverjuke to read from any drive letter with a \music folder so that i can just use any usb stick and create "music" folder on it and put all my .mp3 files in that. Then without having to use windows or a keyboard and mouse, have silverjuke find all the music when it is launched from my front-end application.
Is this possible?
thanks,
Nas

Re: Adding files
Bump... Any help with this would be great help as I want my cabinet to just accept any USB stick with a "music" folder and just work without having to manually load it through the silverjuke menus.

Re: Adding files
Well, without trying, what happens if you add all possible drive letters to your music library. Then remove the USB-Stick(s) and hit Update (F5). Are there errors regarding the missing drives? If not, this could be the solution: Insert the USB-Stick and hit F5.
(Hitting F5 could also be done by a script, if this works at all)

Re: Adding files
I already wrote (nearly) this functionality in 2009
Most of the work was hooking into windows to detect the USB change, and finding a way to avoid Silverjuke errors.

Re: Adding files
Hi friends,
I don't use Sj that much now because I have a lot of albums (mp3) that won't update my library.
When scanning my files Silverjuke will exit. on restart it asks me if I want to use this file.
I checked al files that gave me an error, but they all play in another player. I removed the files that gave the error but I stopped by B and I allready had 8 albums removed.
So I'm a little diss.....
