I am becoming very frustrated with Silverjuke.
No-one responds to legitimate reproducible bugs??
I have now uninstalled the 3 Beta version and gone back to 2.74 but despite cleaning the registry
and deleting folders etc, it continues to look for C:\Setting\Mymusic.db and mysettings.ini despite the fact that I haven't told it to create that folder. I want it to use the Registry settings and Appdata .ini file paths. I don't want my root directory cluttered up!!
Every day I go back to my music collection, names have reverted back to the wrong format. In Silverjuke the list is 01, 02, 03 etc
You tell Silverjuke 2.74 to rename them and is calls them 00 Track 1 , 00 Track 2 Etc, 00 Track 3 etc. I suspect it is using the registryu sometimes and the C:\Setting\ path at other times which is crazy. It was fine initially, I have reformatted my PC reloaded and it persists in doing things it's own way.
This is most frustrating. Every post I make is ignored, no-one ever gets back to me. C'mon guys, this is a great product but if it won't work on my system I need to look elsewhere. If I'm doing something wrong, fine tell me and I'll rectify it,
System Specs
Windows 7 - 64 Bit. 8 Gb Ram, etc

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
I have just downloaded the trial version and was seriously considering buying a licence but the lack of response to the above post has put me off.
Why has there been no reply?

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
I'm Buggered if I know. Every question I ask on this forum has been totally ignored. They take your money, then don't respond to legitimate bugs. It's a great program but it would benefit significantly from features from others like Media Monkey (I also Purchased)and WinAmp (Also Purchased) I've Wasted so much Money, but still searching for the Perfect Program.
SilverJuke doesn't like 64 bit Windows (This is the future let's face it)It's one of the reccomended Programs for Large Music Collections, Yes it performs OK on big databases, but get's the data corrupt, Wrong Images loaded, Etc Etc. Has Potential but not ready for Current OS'es. I think personally the Jukebox feature is what keeps it going. Damn Shame really

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
haven't had a look on here in a while. I am not an expert on silver juke. To the above post I would hazard a guess you have a permissions issue. Which version of 7 are you running? Try changing the permissions on the directory you are struggling with to inlude system, admins, users etc elevated to full read & write control.
Also ensure your files are not set to read only. Sometimes when copying from different locations, systems etc the files get locked on read only.
Post your results back either way.

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
Thanks for taking the time to respond Guest. I Did use the ATTRIB -h -s -r trick etc, as well as the Take ownership trick to make sure the permissions were set correctly. The Library is on my D: Drive which is shared on my network so my Daughter can access the Library as well. My Win 7 Machine is not on a domain based Network, but a simple Workgroup scenario as my Server (2008 STD R2) is just for FTP use and isn't part of a domain either.
I am learning the hard way that you need to run 3 Apps to get one perfect solution to most problems, either that or write your own App but I can't be bothered, too old to learn new tricks. I am in the Music Industry but on the Studio side so I am sort of speaking from experience. If I could put together Media Monkey and Silverjuke and combine the best of each it would be a killer app.

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
as a general fault finding excercise you usually find it is a permissions issues for errors like that. I may be wrong in thinking that you are trying to use silverjuke to modify the actual sound file(s)?

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
No I have dedicated Professional tools for that (Steinberg Wavelab 7.1 etc)
All I want is playback, nothing more, nothing less

Re: Silverjuke is getting worse for me
ok then. I am a bit lost at what it is actually doing then. The .db file is loading in the correct place, not that that is important, & the permissions are correct.
