Would really like to specify different default views for different functions ... most crucial, to me, would be away to have search returns always display as a list that can be viewed with minimal scrolling.
Thanks

What do you find lacking in the list-view for this purpose?

Nothing, really, it's just that I prefer the album cover view for playing (it's got such a nice jukebox look) but it leads to search results for a track being spread out over many screens necessitating manually changing the view and than changing it back after I'm done with the search list ... what I'd like is to be able to select "list" as the default view for search only.
Great program, BT, the global hotkeys are so much more workable and stable than, for example, Winamp's.

I could create a script for you which changes the mode to list when you enter something in the searchfield, and changes to album after you clear the searchfield. Would that help you?

You are fabulous ... awesome even, but while I'm begging ... just did a search for lion, as in the dude who sleeps tonight. Got returns on everything that had the letters l-i-o-n in it, as in millions, etc. Tried the search with a blank space ahead and behind the lion but got the same results. Tried it with quotes around the "lion" and got no results, turned off search while typing and tried lion<space> but still got all the millions ... so I was wondering what the correct way to search for a complete word is ... thanks again.

Hi guest (=ekb606?),
Currently I think the search is only a 'find this text inside either leadartist or albumtitle or tracktitle', there is nothing you can do about that without very heavy scripting. On both the English and the German forum users are petitioning for more powerful search options, so you are not alone
. Just ask on the wishlist, maybe a future version might cater to your wishes...
(Predefined music searches are more powerful, but not really usable if you just incidentally want to search for 'lion'. They would be useable if you wanted a predefined search for the word lion if you often want to play songs from that group - which I doubt somehow
)
