Karaoke announcement module

Hi All,

This module generates a 35 second silent announcement track with countdown text to call up the next singer.

No, please! Not me, ever!

It is not fully automated: to add an announcement to the queue use 'tools->queue karaoke announcement' (probably best to make a shortcut).

The advantage of this procedure is that you can move around or delete the entry, and it is readable in the playlist as well.

NOTE:
- As SJ by default skips silent tracks you must deactivate the 'settings->playback->automatic control->fading->skip silence between tracks' option.
- The name entered in the dialog is used to create a dedicated filename - just don't use any characters not legal for that purpose.

Great Job. Can't get the virtual keyboard to come up with it. Is there someway this can be done?

Unfortunately the short answer is no. The build in virtual keyboard is only active for the search input field in a skin, not for the windows-controlled dialog boxes.

As you might have read in my other postings I do have a scripting-library in progress which could handle this, but that would turn this small utility from a 1-hour universal scripting excercise into a multi-evening single-skin project...

Man u r awesome. Thank you for all your help so far. Your response here helped me make some adjustments to my thinking and not letting others do everything. I found another program that solved the input problem. It works for both portions of the input, search and name, of course with a little tweaking. Could you give me a hint on how to change the time limit? Would really appreciate it. Is it related to the sound tracks time? Or is it something I would have to adjust in the script?

Hi smokngezr34,

You can use an audiotool (audacity is free & OK) to stretch/compess the silent track to the length you want, add/del multiples of 5 secs. In the script (use notepad if you don't know what else) there is a 30-sec limit somewhere, just change it to match the length of the track minus 5. (All out of my head, come back if you need more specific)
