Well: yes. First of all the songposition which is communicated to the slave is always one timertick ahead of the real position. During my tests this seemed a reasonable average. Five seconds is really weird, I have no explanation for that.
But the "clipping the end" should not be a problem, the audio output of the slave is to be considered an unreliable by-product. If you want to spread the music throughout multiple rooms you should connect the audio-out of the master to multiple loudspeakers. Either connect the line out, or add more speakers, or even send the audio over a network link to the slave PC. As long as you don't listen to the SJ output on the slave.
