Shiruba/100 Skin

Hi All,

Another new weird skin! A common response to some of my previous skins was "Nice, but there are not enough controls and options...". Well, that issue has been adressed

I needed a new selection mechanism with lots of options to put in enough buttons for the gadget-freaks among us, so that is one of the main attractions of this skin.

The selection is based on an original idea by frenchi, but instead of selecting on either artist, genre, year or rating you can do it all at the same time. And if for instance you have selected a year-range then selecting an artist will only show the list of artists for that period.

Response is virtually instantanuous on all searches although all indexing is done on the fly. A tester with a big database clocked at most 3 secs on his 120.000 track collection for any sort of index building. Yes, I _am_ rather proud of that

For those who know frenchi's skins and his use of a global rating database: this skin supports the same database and can import/export ratings from/to it. Look under the Silverjuke toolmenu if you need it.

KNOWN ISSUE:
This skin (like many complicated skins) does not like to be re-selected multiple times. If you see any errormessage about SQL tables etc., please just restart Silverjuke with the skin selected.

Nice to hear you like this skin!

The error can have some causes:

1) If it occurs all the time: maybe you are running an old version of SJ before 2.72

2) If it just happened once or infrequently: restarting SJ very quickly sometimes causes this. Not important (a minor issue with databases in SJ), just restart again.

If you select Shiruba/100, leave SJ, wait 5 secs, restart SJ, then this error should never happen. If it does, post on the German side a complete description (I read German quite OK, and it is important you can describe exactly when this happens).

The skin has a silver colorscheme and has an austere design which could be of Japanese origin. 'Shiruba' is Japanese for 'Silver', and then it was designed with a specific amount of buttons. In fact I created the name Shiruba/100 before the skin...

PS: My first idea for a name was "One-hunderd-and-eighty!", but I could not fit enough useful buttons in a 1024x768 design

Look in on the German with finished skins: http://forum.silverjuke.net/ , where Kayyak and others have finished a handful of color variants. Most are not really scalable though.

As far as I know really transparent like seeing the desktop or other windows through Silverjuke is not possible (except by using an external utility to control the transparency of the entire Silverjuke application).
