The Eagle Blue Touch is still my favorite skin, since I use SJ primarily on my touchscreen computer. It's just about perfect, but there is one issue that I'd like to try and solve.

When searching for music, the size and proximity of the text often makes it's difficult to select the song from the results page.

Trying to select one of those songs with thick fingers can be a challenge!

I don't expect the same sort of formatting in the search function that appears when browsing albums. However, I think spreading the entries out vertically would make selecting a song much easier. How can I customize the skin to add vertical spacing between songs in the search results?

Unfortunately I have nearly zero control over the way SJ layouts the results. You can tweak maybe the layout a little more to your liking by fiddling with the SJ layout settings (settins->skins->fonts and covers). Don't forget: if your changes result in a changed amount of visible columns on the result page you must inform the skin by setting that number with rightclick->tools->layout edit.

I am still waiting for SJ-Team to release a new version where either the scripting or the API has access to the album art. When (if ) that ever happens all sorts of custom layouts are suddenly possible and it would be a trivial matter to layout the results screen in a more usable way. My teasing skin screenshots in another thread show what sort of things are possible once you have access to the album art. Unfortunately currently that skin requires a hefty DLL and besides as a workaround needs all albumart available as a fixed name separate JPG, not something I can release as a general skin. I got bored with the current skin limitations - which is why I did not create a new one for the past half year or so. It's is a shame really - this year's theme adds a nice inspiring touch to the contest but I just can't motivate myself to create another workspace based skin.

Looks like I stumbled on a sore spot. Hopefully your request won't fall on deaf ears.

Is there any way to change the font size on the search results page that is independent of album browsing area? I tried using Fonts and Covers to increase the search results font size, but the font in the browsing area gets too big.

Did you already try to set the zoom of the skin itself (the rightclick->tools->layout edit option) differently for the browse and the search result window?

I am a bit reluctant to control those SJ Fonts and Covers settings from within the skin from script when switching between the two windows (even if possible, I'm not sure), as it would effect any skin used after this one. Might not be an issue for you (and some other users I know exclusively using this skin) but when trying out different skins people sure won't be pleased if I change global SJ options.

I'm still chewing on this...

Oh, by the way: I think if you touch the album art (or was it the album title? I forgot which, don't have silverjuke here right now) it will go to that album with only the search result tracks available? That was my original workaround for this issue, it adds a click (or more correctly tap) but is big-finger-proof.

I hadn't done this yet; I didn't realize you could set the zoom separately for the search window. I set it to Max and it does help quite a bit. Thanks

Double-Clicking on the Album title in the search window enqueues all the listed tracks. I'll have to play with that and see how that works for me.

I can understand your reluctance to change global settings for a particular skin. How difficult would it to do it myself? Can you at least point me in the right direction?

Are you using the latest version, Silversmith? The 2.02 version fixed the visualization problem that cropped up in the earlier 2.01 release.

Did you install 2.02? There were some visualization issues fixed in both 2.01 and 2.02, sounds like you ran into the same?
