Thanks Frenchi, I have replied. I tried to send my mymusic.db file but my server refused it because it is 85meg. Thanks.

if you encounter the same problem than Steve00932:
problem is a mismatch in the database. Solution: rebuild the artist database:

- right mouse click on Silverjuke window
- Tools
- Artists in file

With this the problem should be solved.

Cheers

Hi,

I have now finished a new Version of my graphite skin (vers. 1.61). There were some corrections, and a few new functions.
First of all, a big thanks to fuxfux for the great help in debugging, and also for all these new ideas which results in some quite nice functions. Thank you.

Changes:
- button for visualization
- button for ?Genre-filter? as ?Artists-Filter?
- A third filter, which is configurable (group, year, comment, music selections) see below
- In ?graphite-ts? some buttons are bigger now (for big fingers ;-) )
- Playlist direct choice (see below)

Third filter
Before using this function, you have to configure this:
Right mouse click, settings, advanced, further options, third filter configuration.

First you choose which will be the base of the filter:
- music selection
- year
- comment
- group

Depending of your choice the configuration may continue after clicking OK:
- Music selection: configuration finished, Silverjuke will now read all existing music selections and will show them on the left hand side button field (with the exception of the music selection ?A01? which is the internal graphite filter. It will be wise to ?clean up? your music selection (delete all selection you do not want to have on the buttons (but, please do not touch ?A01?)) for having a proper list.
- Year, comment, group: after choosing year, comment or group a further configuration window will pop up

with ?scan database tags for Filter words? you can choose whether Silverjuke should scan the song database on all tags and show all existing tags on your button list.
Alternatively or additionally you can add the filterwords manually. For this you choose first of all the filter function and afterwards you are giving the filterwords:
Syntax: [Filtername1|]filterword1,[Filtername2|]filterword2,?.
Two filterwords are separated by comma ?,?. This value is the one which is compared with the value in the tag and decided whether the song is shown or not. For filterfunctions needing two values (?is in range?) you separate the two value with ?-? (?1970-1979?).
Additionally you can give a Filtername, which is the text which will be shown on the button for this filter. Filtername and filterword must be separated by ?|?.
Example: ?Songs of the 70?s|1970-1979, Songs of the 80?s|1980-1989?
After clicking on OK the buttons matrix is created.

If you add later on new songs (or new music selections), you update or recreate your music database (F5 or Shift-F5) or you change some tags, you have to update your button database:
right mouse click, tools, update third-filter database

Playlist direct choice
I found the loading of playlist too complicated in Silverjuke, so I added a Playlist button just beside the filter buttons. Clicking on this, all available playlists will be shown on the left hand side button field. Clicking on these buttons will load and start playing the chosen playlist.
Before doing so, you have to configure your system:
Right mouse click, settings, advanced, further options, playlist configuration.
Here you have to tell the system where your playlist files are stored. In a network system, it might be wise to use the same drive than you use for your songs itself, so that you can use the playlists from all your computers.
After OK the list will be established and will be shown on the left button field.
When you create new Playlists, you have to update the internal database with ?right mouse click, tools, update playlist database?.

I hope this is understandable, if not, please ask.

Have fun, and as usual: comments and critic is highly welcome.

Cheers

Frenchi.

Hi, thanks again...i thought you stopped your work on graphite, but sometimes we forgot that it takes time to work on it !

As usually, there are some critics coming...

***new filters.
Artist and year are working well. Althought it does, i think the window on the side for the year filter doesn't need to be as big as it is for the artist. year are only 4 digits anyway...

Genre doesn't work.it says it s updating, but nothing happens...
I set the folder where my playlist are and it still doesn't work for the playlist filter. this is what it returns :

By the way, this option is a really good idea. That s true, it s bit annoying to clic right and open playlist whle you can have all of them displayed on silverjuke window. Keep on working on this feature, it s probably the best for this new update...

***Playlist view

there s a little idea. nothing serious, but that could just look better. The scrolling bar (who s actually between the cover and the playlist) would feel way better on the left hand side of the playlist IMO.

***Now Playing

I don' t really now what s going on. i didn t change any setting on my computer about the screen resolution. It used to work pretty well for all the change you ve done in the last updates. But look how it looks like on my now playing view now !!!... do you have any idea why it s like this now...unless you wanted it to look like this ;-)

The playlist is underneath the cover. The seekinb bar at the bottom seems to have disapeared...and for the playlist view as well...

***Seeking track bar. That s finally looking good. I know it s only details, but that s with little stuff like this that we can have a big software...and some better improvements of course ;-)

Thanks for your work again, you rock

Cyril

Hi Cyril,

yes, it takes some time to work on it, and there is still some live beside Silverjuke ....

width of the year buttons. Yes you are right for single years, but if you want to show "Songs form the 90's" or so, the width is welcome. Additionally I'm using the same layout for all filters, and cannot handle the button width dynamically.

Genre doesn't work & Playlist filter.
On my side it works like a charme. The message looks like a problem with the database. Try to restart Silverjuke and update all databases (first <F5>, than Artist, Genre, third filter, playlist). Hope this will help. Please let me know.

Playlist view
Will take it and think about it.

Now Playing:
Yes, I know, and I'm really confused about this problem: It seems that due to the high number of elements (graphics, labels, etc) in my skins Silverjuke is giving some strange behaviour. Looking on your picture of the console (435 messages) I presume that you had an error message, you clicked "OK" and went on. Problem is that Silverjuke does not load all elements in this case.
On my side, restarting is solving the problem, but changing to Kiosk is bringing it up again :-x . Only workaround I know today is to restart Silverjuke (directly in Kiosk if you want to use Kiosk mode). Alternatively (but please do not hit me) is to switch 11 (eleven) times to Kiosk and back (accepting every second time an error message). After this it's running well; but please do not ask me why. I posted a request on the forum in order to get a better understanding of this, but actually it looks for me like a bug in Silverjuke.

Seeking track bar
Glad to hear that you (finally) are satisfied with it ;-)

Thanks a lot for your comments and critics. It's for such feed back I'm posting here my skins.

Cheers

Hi.

thanks for the tips.
the now playing view looks way nicer now.
genre and year and playlist are good as well.
I ve got an idea for the playlist. Wouldn't it be nice to have all the tracks and the covers displayed in silverjuke of the selected playlist. and only the songs from the playlist...
what do you think about that.
and probably one button in the side window "ALL" to show all the other tracks in order to add them to the playlist...

tell me what you think about that

bye
