Hi SilverEagle,

I am *REALLY* liking these skins they have almost everything I am looking for in a party jukebox (am also eagerly awaiting QWERTY keyboard, btw).

Thank you very much for your efforts, it is appreciated hugely.

The only thing I would wish for on these is for use of the credit system, I am hosting a family party soon and my intention was to give everyone, young and old, a couple of tokens to choose songs, for fun and fairness, and to stop certain people hogging the sounds.

Is it possible to get the credit system up and running with these skins, or is it already and I am just being a bit dim?

Many thanks,

mezwurm

Hi SilverEagle !

First, thank you very much for your skin !!

I just discovered some very interesting things about your skin !!

1) Have you noticed that you can move the little cursor/scroll bar (slider bar), to go FW/BW but only by a double-click

2) I tried to use some keyboard shotcuts:
- next song (ex: oh no, not this song !), 10s forwads, 10s backwards, play/pause, empty playlist , volume etc… all these shortcuts works very well

3) You can get the change view (3 views) by using F7 (see pictures below)

4) And by using "Page down" and "Page Up" you can scroll all your covers vertically (very interesting, and very fast !!)

6) If you are on the list view you can scroll too with "page up/down" .With this view you can click on a song and then you got the album list

One problem ! If you use the F7 to change view, sometime you got the window that remind you that it is a "One-click" skin (but not everytime, sometime yes, sometime no) Is it possible to remove it ???

Keyboard shortcuts are very interesting for me as l use an "old style" cabinet Jukebox with 5 or 6 big buttons and a "scroll wheel" (with the functions of the keyboard, almost the main functions as a CD player)

I use SJ 2.72 and now 2.73

I am not sure what you mean? If you are talking about the position-in-the-song slider, that one you can just drag with the mouse. I do not know of any double-clicking functionality with that (just tried with 2.73).

You are in luck these work, it is not supported (although I already knew they don't break anything and I always use them for testing ;-))

Very weird, this is normally F3? F7 does nothing on my machine. This skin will probably never support different views, but you have all the other available skins for SJ if you want that sort of interface.

Not supported and can break things, see final comment below. Making this work is on my 'Maybe'-list.

Not supported (and probably wil never be) and can break things, see final comment below.

No, this guards the special mode this skin needs to be in. It only warns once every few seconds to allow you to access the settings to fix it.

I can understand that, but currently this skin is ONLY meant for one-click touchscreen support. This is the only Silverjuke skin available which is really usable for parties with intoxicated and/or computer-illiterate guest using their fingers on a touchscreen. I know with double-clicking, mouse-dragging, keyboard use and outside automation (commandline, DDE, whatever) it can break and I wil not fix this if it is either too much work or will effect the single-click touchscreen use in any way.

That being said: I am brainstorming about creating a skin (possibly a a variant on this one) for button-interfaces with just very few buttons. Could you maybe describe (or preferably post a photo of) your interface and give me some info about the way the scroll wheel works with the PC? In am still looking for good ideas for a minimalistic interface, with dedicated buttons but easier than the numpad-support build in SJ (which is far to complicated for an unsuspecting party-user).

Bye,
SilverEagle

Hi SilverEagle !
Thank you for your answer ! I just make a short answer now and a longer tomorrow !
In fact, l just found a few minutes ago something very interesting about the Scrolling with "Page up/Page Down". It works only if you install the "Search reset tool" by Bertkessels. You open SJ-BlueTouch (then you just have to wait 5 secondes because it is the minimum setting) and you can scroll up/down and it works very very well !!!

Hi herve,

Esc key does the same for you without needing his script (but I added a warning to the top post that for normal use his script should not be used with this skin). But like I said: it might break things. Scrolling is the default behaviour for SJ you get for free, this skin is unique in that it is NOT based on scrolling.

By the way: I just realized I am always telling people this without explaining what goes wrong: if you don't use the big buttons or if you mess up the script-controlled filtering somehow, after displaying the tracks window the skin has no way to reposition your list anymore, and you end up in a random location in your collection.

Hello All,

A script-only update of the touchskin. Thanks to Silverjuke 2.73 all known interface glitches have been fixed, and support for autoplay added. Also the credit-support I already published as scriptpatch on the German forum is now included.

Finally a rather complicated piece of scripting was added just to support the "limit to a given music selection while in kioskmode" functionality of Silverjuke. But from a user point of view I think this was very much needed, after all like someone else posted: you don't want to have people queing christmas songs on your summer party (well, unless you're Australian that is ;-)).

Note that only the BlueTouch is updated yet, if nobody finds any bugs in this new version I'll update RedTouch as well.

The QWERTY keyboard is the obvious omission, which is because that update will overhaul the graphics as well and I'll probably publish it as a fork from the current version.

Have Fun,
SilverEagle

Hi SilverEagle,

Good job on this script, I cant wait to play with it.
Did you have a chance to address what happens if someone double taps the screen?
I thought I read one time this could cause un-predictable issues with the skin.
