Hello Eric,
your code is corrent, however, the "onTrackChange" notification is not always the best place to open an dialog ... just use instead of alert() and everything should be just fine (to see the messages, open the console window at "Context menu > Tools".

I was using "alert()" just for testing. The final script sends the track information to another program and appears to work fine.
