From what I understood, itunes will update the id3 tag with the cover art. I'll have to check that out though.

Importing covers from itunes
I currently use itunes to catalog my songs (mainly because I also sync with my ipod), then sync with my NAS. On three separate occasions now, I have imported 20-30 albums, used itunes to get the cover art, and synced with my NAS, then refreshed my jukebox, only to find that most of the covers aren't...
