I have no idea what it is, or wat is does.. but it works :).

Sometimes sound cards are funny.
Moreover, for hardware problems, also check other system components. Eg. often, old video drivers make problems with sound cards etc.

(even bought a multi-pc license). But now I bought a new soundcard (a Asus Xonar D1 PCI card) for better sound than the onboard ac97 sound. And silverjuke doens't play sound with the new audiocard!
I reinstalled windows xp pro (sp3), installed the newest drivers for the Asus card (and in windows, and windows media player the sound is playing and good!!) Only silverjuke doenst play sound.
