Does the gain also appear if the EQ is off?

If so, maybe the master volume does the gain. Try a different settings for "Settings / Advanced / Further options / Audio output: Use system volume" in this case, this should at least make the Silverjuke master independent from other apps.

can you tell me what the dynamic headroom of the software is? I seem to be needing the EQ on -6db on the master to avoid a clipped output, but then any other windows noises are too loud!

the eq is only +2.5 at 63hz, so shouldnt be causing a massive gain (deffinatly not 6db!).

im running a pro external soundcard which is metering at half level on the outputs, so is deffinatly the software.
