Ich könnte mir nichts desto trotz, so was auch gut in SJ integriert vorstellen - aber viele andere Funktionen halte ich da für wichtiger (suche,..). Und gerade nachdem man so wahnsinnig schnell scrollen kann mit den Maussensitiven-Bereichen wäre der Usability-Gewinn doch wirklich nur sehr gering.

Statt so eine aufwendige 3d-geschichte zu verwirklichen, könnte man sich evtl. auch mal überlegen, ob man nicht die cover automatisch einfachmal langsam durchscrollen lässt, wenn die Bedienung für x minuten stillsteht (wie "vis" quasi)
